Learn more than just the basics of composition for planning and designing your landscape painting using photos. Starting with identifying the concept and story, then design with proportion, line and values. Know what to edit out and what to change to make a compelling composition based on your photos. Practice and learn how to simplify a good work flow using a number of compositional design elements on a variety of subjects. You will have designs worked out for future paintings and use one design in class to translate value for color in either oil or pastel.
