It can be very challenging when painting the landscape to not overdo the details and the overwhelming amount of information Mother Nature lays in front of us. Finding ways to simplify your landscape painting will offer the viewer a cleaner more direct communication of your story.
This workshop will cover thoughts and ideas on creating a more abstract, less literal interpretation of a landscape painting. We will be focusing on simplifying shapes and using color, brushwork, and design to make a pleasing and compelling painting.
Highlighted as well, will be suggestions for creating energy and mood rather than a realistic depiction of the subject.
Open yourself to a more creative approach to painting the landscape!
MATERIALS
Students will provide their own materials. A supply list will be sent out prior to the workshop.
