Painting Animals and People
Painting animals portraits and people portraits are a lot of fun!!! This workshop includes two full days of painting & instruction. You will learn how to get a likeness using color, texture and shapes. Instruction will touch on understanding how light falls on the figure or animal, how colors interact, and the elements of a good composition. This is an all level hands on class.
Bring your favorite photos to paint from. Students can work in pastel or oil. Brenda will demonstrate in pastel.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Brenda Mattson is a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America, a member of the Portrait Society of America, the Salmagundi Club NY, was Exhibition Chairperson for the International Association of Pastel Societies from 2006-2009 and is Historian for the Great Lakes Pastel Society.
Her work has been published in three books and several art magazines. She has a portrait of President Ford in the permanent collection of the Gerald R. Ford Museum, Grand Rapids, MI and five paintings in the permanent collection of President Ronald Reagan Gallery, Santa Barbara, CA. Her work has hung in many museums in the United States as well as abroad. Brenda teaches workshops nationally and internationally and has taught workshops for 20 years. She has her paintings in many galleries as well as in corporate and private collections. Brenda will be teaching an over sea’s workshop in Croatia in May of 2016
