Improve your pastel work in this 2-day workshop and take it to the next level by understanding how to layer color. You will learn how to utilize color temperatures, keeping the pastel application painterly and suggest details rather than drawing them in. Demonstration on making a creative composition, quick color studies, value thumbnails and a landscape demo. Individual instruction and critiques.
A day or half day may be working outside, weather permitting.
MATERIALS TO BRING:
Students will provide their own materials. A supply list will be sent out prior to the workshop.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Kathleen Kalinowski is known for her award-winning representational landscape paintings with impressionistic color and brushwork. Much of her work consists of plein air painting, directly from nature — a source of reference along with photos for larger studio paintings.
Kathleen has been working full time as a professional fine artist for over twenty-eight years, using oil and pastel as her mediums. Her work can be seen in galleries, regional exhibits, and in many corporate collections.
