In this workshop students will learn the basic principles to drawing the Human Portrait. Students will work from a photograph of their choice, so they can continue to practice on their own.
Students will learn the dimensions, anatomy and structure of the head and facial features when drawing a portrait. There will also be a strong emphasis on values, and edges.
MATERIALS TO BRING:
Vine Charcoal: Soft, Medium, Hard
Charcoal pencils
Drawing paper for head studies. (Strathmore is a good quality paper)
Charcoal paper (500) series is a high quality paper for longer drawings.
Kneaded eraser
Hard rubber eraser
Blending stumps: large, medium and small
Artist Chamois
Portable Easel

About the Artist
Scott Kenyon has been painting and drawing most of his life. In 2010, Scott was introduced to the Hawthorne and Henshce approach to painting while he studied at The Cape School of Art, The Maryland Hall for Creative Arts, The Fine Art Academy in Northern CA, and the Chesapeake Fine Arts Studio in Stevensville MA.
Scott Teaches painting and drawing at The Forest Hills Fine Arts Center and the OLLI program at Aquinas College. In addition to teaching, Scott exhibits both locally and nationally.
